Modelling and Simulation of Co-digestion in Anaerobic Digestion Systems

Anaerobic digestion is a widely employed technique that converts waste into biogas, which can be as renewable energy. To improve its efficiency, but also to treat recalcitrant waste, mixes involving several types of feedstock with different biodegradability rates are fed the process. Finding proper mix difficult and involves extensive, long-lasting experimental work. This paper presents an approach allows determining desired properties based on Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) tests, chemical composition feedstocks optimization. procedure illustrated data gathered from BMP tests leaves linden, oak maple, meadow. Subsequently, simple model used simulate continuous operation process converting proposed methane.
